Preheat oven around 180 degrees Celsius. In a bowl combine sugar and lemon zest. In another bowl combined lemon juice, eggs, yogurt, milk and vanilla. Whisk rigourously under blended. Add baking soda, baking powder, sugar and lemon zest. Mix some salt as per taste. Stir the mixture well until uniformly combined. Mix poppy seeds and butter and combine mixture gently. Use a large spoon to pour it in muffin cups. Bake in oven for 25 -30 minutes or until the muffins turn golden brown, firm and springy.
